While at the Iloilo Airport

I woke up late for an early morning flight to Cebu (w/c was supposed to connect me to Tacloban), so now I'm taking a connecting flight via Cagayan de Oro (to Cebu, then to Tacloban because yes, the Cebu leg is important shhhh).

I have two hours to spend at Laguindingan Airport and as I searched the Internet for "Things to Do at Laguindingan Airport," I thought, "Meh. Why not make a 'Things to Do at Iloilo Airport" article?

The Iloilo Airport is about 15km away from big malls and vibrant city spots, but traffic can turn that 15km trip anywhere from a 10-minute to an hour long ride so go to the City at your own risk.

While at the airport, though, you can do choose from any of these activities:

Eat

- JD Bakeshop: rice meals, sandwiches, basic pastas, pastries, salads and soups
- Coffeebreak: coffee and non-coffee beverages, light sandwiches and pre-cooked pasta w/ and adjacent Waffle Time and Rice Box shop
- Cafe: coffee and non-coffee beverages, chips, candies
- Smoking Lounge: SiLogs and Hot Noodles! But it's a smoking lounge so i recommend eating at the Departure Area if cigarette smoke is not your thing

Buy pasalubong

- There are shops that sell crafts, souvenirs, and Ilonggo delicacies just before you enter the Departure Area

Get a Massage

- you can relax and keep your mind free via a sitting-up or lying down massage (price range from 200-350 pesos)

Go to the Kids' Corner

- Bring your kids to the playplace. There's a breastfeeding station, too.

Juice up your gadgets

- the airport has plenty of sockets and a dedicated charging station

Freshen up

- The restrooms are nice and clean and the friendly Ilonggos may even let you go ahead of them. There are tissue rolls available (no bidets, though).

Netflix and chill

- The airport has a free (time-limited) wifi connection for the wholesome version of netflix and chill πŸ˜…

Read

- The airport has free newspapers. No bookshops, though.

Watch tv shows

- The shows are either NBA or a travel feature

Make friends

- Ilonggos are very friendly so don't be surprised when strangers smile at you at random. You might want to engage people to a convo, but just be sensitive to get a hint if you feel like they'd rather be left alone. (Like pre-coffee me πŸ˜…)

I'll try to add photos to this post later. Let me know about your Iloilo Airport experience at the Comments section!
