Dinagyang Weekend 2020

This morning, Rheane and I stood in separate lines in a fastfood to grab breakfast before she goes to the office.
"Your love surrounds me like a lullaby// Singing softly, you are mine oh mine" - Maybe the Night, Ben & Ben

Ben & Ben's Maybe the Night played on the speakers and we giggled and held each other's hand and giggled some more and I couldn't help but think how an immensely satisfying punctuation it was to the weekend that we just had -- one that we initially planned to be packed with party activities but turned out to be more fulfilling: it aptly started with a leisurely breakfast that gave us enough energy for Friday night fangirling as she took part in the float parade (my cutie sparkling jellyfish 😍), half and half concerts and a late meal bonding before going home to Mandurriao Mansion;
"It's like our time together is just ours. It's our own creation. It must be like I'm in your dream, and you in mine." - Celine, Before Sunrise

an out-of-condition 10km run for me that i still managed to finish in less than 90 minutes early Saturday morning followed by a gift of good luck, which we badly needed after finiding out Rheane's sister gave birth to Baby Cloud, a looong day of waiting that rendered us too physically exhausted to even consider partying that night;

Knotted cherry stalk. 😏

 Sunday morning visit to Shing and then church, lunch and much needed rest at MM, ended the night with finally watching Before Sunrise, one of Rheane's favorite films, on Netflix.
 "If there's any kind of magic in this world. . . it must be in the attempt of understanding someone." - Celine, Before Sunrise

We probably would've had more socmed-worthy pics and cooler memories to look back to if we decided to go out and party, and sometimes I worry that Rheane could be misising out on a lot of fun stuff because she has to prioritize my needs over hers, but then she holds my hand and looks at me in ways that constantly silence my insecurities, and many times I catch myself thanking the universe for this awesome, awesome presence in my life.

"Inalay mo sa akin ang gabing walang hangganan." Himala, Rivermaya

I do not always feel worthy, but I am always, always grateful.
